Sense of Wine is Closed

Hello friends,

My sincere apologies for not notifying all of our wonderful customers sooner, but we have closed for business permanently. Though we searched long and hard for an investor, it was not to be! We loved our time with Sense of Wine and enjoyed meeting and serving each one of you.

We invite you to keep in touch with us individually on LinkedIn. We wish you all the best!

Tamara & JF Vellozzo

To Our Customers

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for being a valued part of Sense of Wine. It is our absolute pleasure serving you and helping you find just the right bottle to take home and enjoy. One of our greatest rewards is frequently hearing from you how our suggestions were right on target! Thank you so very much!

March 1st is upon us. Despite our search for investors to launch Sense Of Wine by the Glass, we have yet to identify a partner to join us. Unfortunately, we are unable to financially sustain Sense of Wine at this point. As a result, tomorrow we begin the liquidation of our inventory. We expect to close on or before April 1st.

Because we never give up, we will continue to eagerly seek partnership until our closing date! In the meantime, we hope you’ll stop in to take advantage of the amazing deals we have for you in store this weekend:

20% OFF on Wine & Beer and

40% OFF on ALL other items

Warm regards,

Tamara & JF

Keeping the Sparkle

In your Champagne, that is. Or your sparkling wine, whatever fits your budget and your palate!

Since it is Valentine’s Day there will be special, intimate celebrations for couples around the world and close at home. Celebrations like these often call for some bubbly!

If, per chance, you and your special someone fail to finish your sparkling beverage, just drop a silver (really any metal should do) spoon into the neck and store it back in the refrigerator. Ensure the spoon has a little wiggle room above it and is not stuck in place.

In my experience, the bubbles will last a good 24-hours, though for taste, it is best consumed within a few hours!

Pinot Noir – the thin-skinned grape

Pinot Noir  (pronounced pee-noh-n’whar) is known by wine makers as one of the most difficult grapes to grow. Yet, when they get it right, this red wine is complex, elegant and seriously good.

One of the characteristics of the grape is its thin skin.  This means less tannin, that bitter, drying component found only in red wines.  Pinot makes a great choice for white and red lovers alike, especially those who are looking to meet in the middle and for people who are just beginning to experience the wonderful world of Red wines.

Pinot Noir pairs well with a variety of dishes and is often considered one of the world’s most versatile pairing wines! Chicken, Lamb, Pork… saucy or spicy… Pinot Noir is a safe bet.

Come in this Saturday and taste it for yourself!

What’s the buzz about Beaujolias Noveau?

Every year on the third Thursday of November, France releases its famous Beaujolais Nouveau! No one anywhere in the world can sell a bottle of this light bodied, celabratory red before 12:01am that day and it commonly sells out within weeks.

A light, fruit-forward red wine, Beaujolais Nouveau is easy on the palate because of the minimal tannins (the cause of the mouth-drying sensation of red wine), so even if you usually pass on the red, partake in this one!

Beaujolais Nouveau is  food friendly wine that graces Thanksgiving day dinner tables all over the US. Serve it slightly chilled to bring out the best of the wine’s fruit character. Putting it in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes before serving will do the trick!

It’s meant to be consumed young, so buy, pour & party!

Want to try before you buy? Visit us this week for Sampling Saturday, 2 to 5pm and we’ll do the pouring for you!
